Pink Gem Designs Blog Candy

I've only recently discovered these fab stamps last month after visiting Stampezee, they're only available online though from Pink Gem Designs.

Janet of Pink Gem has created some lovely characters, Max, Jack, Mimi and Milly...Mimi is based on her grand-daughter. Gem the Cairn Terrier is based on her own dog...there's some lovely cutie animals as well.

Janet's giving us bloggers the chance to win a £25 voucher to spend at PGD, just leave a link from your blog to hers, leave a comment, and write about PGD on your own blog. You have until midnight 30th June to enter.

I'm back....

I had to go and collect Shane from school as well as my friend's 2. I ended up stopping in her house playing with her tv, as she'd just had Virgin installed, didn't leave until 5.20, good job she's only 4 doors away :)

This was done at a work shop at Craft Inspirations in Sutton Coldfield with Shirley. The flourish and greeting is by Inkadinkado 'Wedding 97892' The red corner flourish was done with 'Vintage' 2 x 2 cuttlebug die (set of 4). Rose image is from Inkadinkado 'Doodle Flowers' 97622, and watercoloured with pencils. The red strip was done with a cuttlebug embossing border folder 'With Love' and red gems stuck on. The rectangles were done with nesties.

The photo doesn't do this justice. Old Gold card is from Inspire Me Papers, ovals is ivory pearlescent, brown matt card and old gold. The image and greeting is from the same set as the flourish that's on the card above. Embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, the side panel was punched with Fiskars 'Scalloped Lace.

Monday afternoon

As usual, while attempting to upload pics last night, I started to fall asleep, so I'll get some more on now while it's still daylight!!

Sugar Nellie 'Reflective' coloured with Promarkers, greeting from Craftwork Cards, flowers from Prima. Paper from 7 Gypsies 6x6 pad Sushi Journey 'Kobe'.

Ivory card from 'Shantung Silks' from the Glitter Girls that I forgot I had, brown card from stash. The metal leaves are by Artoz. Border punched with Scalloped Lace from Fiskars.

Father's day card to my OH dad from him. Image is Judikins 'Motorcyclist' paper is from 6x6 Basic Grey pad, Bittersweet 'Lipstick Red'. Wording from Inca Stamps was then gone over with black Stardust pen.

This is Max and frog from Pink Gem Designs, I love Janet's stamps, so much so that I'm now the proud owner of 11 more that were delivered this morning, and I'm just waiting for her new Christmas range to come out so I can have another splurge!
Image coloured in with Derwent watercolour pencils, the water was then gone over with watered down clear stardust pen. Greeting as above, I got Shane to write Grand-dad, the stripey paper was from stash but I'm sure it was Papermania.

Sad News

When I used to live at home with my mum & stepdad, we used to go to a British Legion club. We got to know a couple who used to run the bar when the landlord was on holiday. Sheila is an execellent cake maker and whenever a party was held she was the one who always did the food. She no longer does food for parties any more (she's a pensioner now)but she still makes cakes....we always have her make Shane's birthday cakes. Sadly her husand Gerry passed away 2 weeks ago through cancer. We all thought he'd beaten it, but it came back. This is the card we sent her. Black and aqua card used is from Inspire Me, white paper is from Le Suh. The metal flower is by Artoz. Scalloped Lace punch was also used.

Reminiscing

I came upstairs at least 3 hours ago to do this, and ended up for some reason looking up a group called Mr Mister from the 80's. I have one of their albums 'Welcome To The Real World'. Found some vids on youtube and I sat drooling over the lead singer Richard Page, and I had a nice surprise, he released a song last December 'I Always Cry At Christmas' and it's so beautiful and even though he's older, he still looks pretty good. He's one of those singers that makes you wonder why we never hear more of him, but the music industry these days is more about money than talent.

Anyway to the job in hand...............

Both cards were done at a workshop at Craft Inspirations, Sutton Coldfield. Shirley came up with the design using 'Flutterby Friends' from Stampendous and was watercoloured with Sakura 'Stardust' pens. The aperture on the lilac card was done using a nestie and the flower is Prima 'Daisy Doodles'....for the life of me I can't remember what was used to make the yellow and blue flowers on the second card, the smaller blue daisy ones made with an x-cut punch I had to add as I somehow got ink on the larger flower.

Sugar Nellie 'Picking Apples' coloured with Promarkers..the hat and flowers were then gone over with a watered down stardust pen 'Clear Sparkle' you can't tell in the pic, but it's lovely and sparkly. Paper is double sided and is by Stampin' Up, Bo Bunny ribbon, flower as before. Middle strip of paper was punched using Fiskars 'Scalloped Lace'

This is my craft room, and as you'll see it's not very big. Not sure if I like all the stuff on the door but no doubt I'll get used to it. Extra shelving was put up yesterday so I could put my stamps on there as there wasn't much room in the drawers. I was surprised to see how many I've actually got.

Been a week since my last update, every now and again I have to do housework!!!!

Went to Coventry last Thursday as Shane was off school due to the voting, so we took him to Ikea to pick the colour of the shelves he's having in his room....but before we went to Ikea we went to Stampezee, a friend had recommended that I go there. As usual I spent far too much money. I bought some clear stamps by Pink Gem Designs, which I have to admit I'd never heard of. These aren't on stampezee's website but can be bought directly from Pink Gem.

Penny Black 'A Touch' coloured with Promarkers. Image is on 'Pointy Frames' by Go Kreate. Backing paper 'Amethyst Infusion' from Papermania 6x6 pad. Ribbon from stash, and card punched with Floral Lace punch from Martha Stewart. The punched card is lilac but doesn't photograph very well.

Paper was a freebie from Crafts Beautiful magazine and is also available to download from their site. Image is 'Jack & teddy' from Pink Gem Designs, card candy and greeting from Craftwork Cards, I added the '5' to it. Scalloped circle done with a nestie. Image was coloured with Promarkers I didn't want to go too over the top with this, as it was for a 5 year old boy and I doubt very much if he'd be interested in what his card would look like, toys are far more important :)

Sugar Nellie 'Pen Pal' coloured with Promarkers, floral paper 'Flower Patch' Making Memories 6x6 pad, the spotty/plaid is double sided and from my stash. Flowers by HOTP, and card candy from Craftwork cards.

Image as before, watercoloured with Sakura Stardust pens. Basic Grey 6x6 pad, 'Praline' from the Bittersweet range, punched with Scalloped Lace/Threading Water from Fiskars. I went over the stamped greeting with black stardust pen. Tag was punched with a Sizzix thick cut die.

A very quick and easy card to do. Image from Butterfly Kisses 'Miss Ellie' coloured with Promarkers.
