Boy's card

My son has been invited to a birthday party tomorrow by one of his classmates at the local bowling alley, I made this card for him, hope he likes it.

The image is from Lili of the Valley, the greeting was heat embossed using an Ink It Up pad in blue and clear embossing powder, Cuttlebug labels 4, sentiment is by Penny Black 2908F '...to you' copics used for colouring: B00 B04 B12-R02 R08-Eoo E34-W7-C0 C00 C1 C2 C4.

I was naughty and ordered some more stamps from LOTV today, I say naughty because I was going to try to cut down on what I spend on crafty things, because I've got a holiday to save for, I want some new specs and I want to decorate my living room after the dining room has been done....looks like I'm failing miserably already.

I'm in bed as I type this as I'm unbelievably tired, and trying to watch The Vampire Diaries at the same time, so I'll bid you all goodnight.

Another workshop make

I didn't have time to finish this, we made it several weeks ago and was made in 2 workshops, lots of cutting and gluing had to be done. I finished this on Friday at home, but only photographed it earlier today. I'm not a scrapbooker, but this may just get me on my way to having ago...I even bought a scrapbook back in February that's just waiting for me to play with.

This is called an edgy album made of chipboard and it's from Bo Bunny. They come in 8 colours, the one here is in chocolate.

Hope you're all enjoying the good weather while we've got it, hopefully I'll start doing the gardening next week if it carries on like this.

Time to catch up with some other stuff.

I've followed a sketch.....

from Friday Sketchers, it was an old challenge, by about a week but I had no intention of entering (it was current when I made my card) I just wanted some inspiration, don't know why I didn't think of doing it before.  You never know maybe one day I may actually enter a challenge, but judging by the standard of entries I don't stand a chance anyway.  Here's the card.
The image is Belles 'n' Whistles 'Lil Miss Poppy' coloured with Copics.  The papers and ribbon are from Papermania,  A5 pad 'Capsule Collection in Aqua', flowers from stash.

That's all for now, Dr Who has just started, Shane is next door and Mike is working.  I've got a card to finish off, no chance of getting it done tonight as my viewing is planned, after Dr Who, Over The Rainbow, Then Britains Got Talent and after that the remake of The Prisoner.

More workshop makes

As I mentioned the other day, I had some other makes that I was going to put on here...well here they are!

This was done using alcohol inks, it was the first time any of us had used them and we all agreed that we would use them again.
This is the inside of the tin (obviously!!) I did mine wrong, but I can't remember what it was that I did.
This was lovely to make but also awkward at the same time, we had to draw around the front cover of the butterfly, then around the back cover as believe it or not they were ever so slightly different sizes.  Card candy from Craftwork Cards, as is the butterfly, not sure what paper was used. Pink dotty ribbon from Bo Bunny.

As you can see, this wasn't easy to photograph, and I don't know why I even bothered putting it on black card.  Card was core'dinations. Butterfly was a cut n' emboss Cuttlebug, the flowers were Woodware punches, circles and scallops and the tag are nesties, ladybird and bee were already cut out for us. I had the idea I would get some more of these paint tubs to store my pens/pencils but then I wouldn't be able to put the lid on, so that was a no go.

Even though this was a workshop card I had to make it at home as I felt unwell at the shop and left after the first hour.  I only got round to making it yesterday and the fiddliest bit was threading the ribbon through the button holes, apart from that it was easy peasy, I punched the flowers using an EK Success retro flower punch. White card was punched with EK Success 'Diamond Lace'.

We made easel cards last Wednesday.  The image is Sugar Nellies 'Pet's Corner' coloured in with promarkers, white and blue card edged with the same punch as above.  The white card candy was coloured with grey promarker as I preferred it, (the sample card had grey ones on). The card with the image was wiped around with distress ink 'old paper' (I think) Sentiment also from craftwork cards.  Not sure where the backing paper came from.
This is Gorjuss Girls 'Flower Girl' again coloured with promarkers. The flowery paper was 7 circles using a 1 inch punch (could've been 1.5 can't remember what Shirley said), both size flowers are cut with retro flower punches by EK Success.

That's it as far as workshop stuff is concerned until next Wednesday when I'm back at Craft Inspirations for some more marvelous makes with Louise & Shirley.

Found these

on the 'puter, I must have left them out when I uploaded the others.

Image is by Pink Gem Designs, coloured with Copics, paper, feet brads from stash.  Just noticed I've lost one of my bows, must still be in my craft room...that'll be like looking for a needle in a haystack!!!!!

Forever Friends image coloured with Copics, pale pink card run through with a Cuttlebug embossing folder 'Swiss Dots'.  Very quick to make too, so that's why I made the one below as well, lol,
Gorjuss Girl 'Flower Girl' coloured with Promarkers and Copics. Embossing folder as above.

I'm lying in bed as I type this, watching Ugly Betty before I get up and get ready to go to Craft Inspirations in Sutton Coldfield. I can't remember what we're making today, but whatever Shirley has come up with I'm sure it's going to be good.

Brrrrrr

Thought I might show you some of the photos taken when we went sledging at Elmdon Park back in January when we had all that snow.  We went twice (am I glutton for punishment???) The first time we went I froze, even though I was wrapped up warmly, or so I thought, Shane had left his wellies at school so he had to wear his trainers. His school didn't shut because of the snow, but they had teacher training, that's why we were able to have the park to ourselves the first time we went. The second time I wore 3 pairs of socks, wellies, 2 pairs of jeans, vest top, t-shirt, and a cardigan, warm 3/4 length coat, scarf, 2 pairs of gloves (plus latex gloves so my other ones wouldn't get wet!!) and a hat, and I still froze my wotsits off!!!!! It was good fun though, and as far as I know there were no accidents.
Here's a few pics.
Shane on his sledge.

Does my bum look big in this??

Shane & Michael in the lead

On your marks.......

Think that's the M6 in the distance, or is it the M42?

Workshop Cards

The following are all that I made at Craft Inspirations workshops, including Christmas ones. I haven't written what punches, embossing folders etc were used as there's just too many to write up about.  That'll teach me not to blog on a regular basis :)
All designs were done by Shirley Drew, who tutors all the workshops.

Flipping codes

I've spent most of the morning trying to change the layout of my blog .....easier said than done.  I kept getting a message saying there was a problem with the code, anyway I've got it sorted but whenever I sign in I still see my old layout before it changes to the new one and I can't find the old code to delete it, no matter how much I search for it, I've no idea if anyone else sees the old black/white/red layout, maybe you could let me know.

Mike woke me up in the early hours getting up to look out the window as he thought he'd heard something outside, luckily I fell back asleep, normally once I'm awake that's it, but I woke up again about 7.30 ish and just couldn't  get my bum out of the bed, I was planning on doing more ironing but just couldn't be bothered.  That's when I hit on the idea to change my blog.......note to self: think ideas through when you're more wide awake.
Anyway here's some more makes.
All 3 cards have been made using Craftwork Cards papers apart from the flowers and the sentiments on the first 2 cards, they're done with Spellbinder 'Label 4' dies and good old peeloffs from my stash.

Image is the Lavender Flower Fairy that I bought secondhand years ago off ebay, I watercoloured it with Whisper markers.  Dark blue card has been embossed using Cuttlebug Embossing Borders 'Frills Set' and then distressed.

This was made for a little girl who lives a few doors away from me, for her 7th birthday.  She had Tinkerbell on her cake, so I carried the theme on.  Cuttlebug embossing folder for Tinkerbell was watercoloured with Sakura Stardust pens. Borders were punched with Martha Stewart deep edge punch 'Floral Vine', fairy charm from stash.  The card is an 8x8 from Craftwork Cards
Another quick card that was commissioned.  Image from Elzybells and coloured with copics, peel offs from stash.

This was another quick card, and I was asked to put the receipients name on (I hate doing those kind) but as the person who wanted it said she wanted one of my £2 cards, it doesn't leave a lot of room to really titify the card up (card is 12cm x 12cm) and as I know the receipient loves going to the ballet, I thought this would suit her to the ground. The decoupage image is off FeeJDesigns disc 'Ballet Belles' the backing paper is craft work cards (again!)

Image from Penny Black 2376K 'Toot the Flute' and 'Musical Birthday' BK2040LC from Butterfly kisses. Shaped frame by Go Kreate.  Backing paper is a freebie, flower from stash.

Belles 'n' Whistles 'Sunshine and Apples' coloured with Copics.  Papers by Papermania 'Capsule Collection' in Aqua.  Sentiment from Craftwork Cards, flower from stash.
This was made for a friend's little girl whose birthday we missed, so rather than make a belated card, I made a wall plaque instead.  Image is from sugar Nellies 'Daisy' coloured with Copics.  Butterfly is Cuttlebug 'Cut 'n' Emboss' flower from stash.  Pointy frame by Go Kreate was embossed using Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Image is from Sugar Nellies 'Picking Apples' coloured with Copics, lemon paper punched with Martha Stewart deep edge punch 'Flower Bed', double sided backing paper from Stampin' Up.
Another £2 card ordered by someone, I wasn't happy with this but she liked it.  Bears are Penny Black 'Bear Blanks' 1450E & 1451F coloured with Copics.  Cuttlebug embossing folder 'Happy Birthday'.
Forever Friends image 'I'll Drink To That' coloured with copics.  Basic Grey paper is from a 6 x 6 pad called 'Two Scoops' and this particular design is called 'Swirl'.  Pink card is done with Martha Stewart deep edger punch 'Floral Vine'.  Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

My first ever easel card and Gorjuss Girl! 'Flower Girl' coloured with Promarkers. Red card is Bo Bunny Double Dot 'Harvest Dot'.  Border done with Martha Stewart 'Flower Bed'.
